A Spoonful of Sugar is dedicated to creating fun, unique cakes to be the highlight of your event. Each cake is individually designed, incorporating your requests, tastes, and personality. Like a snowflake (but more delicious), no two cakes are ever the same! Incorporating her interest in health and yoga, founder Kathleen DeManti also creates vegan and gluten-free cakes, proving that food that is good for you, can also be good for your taste buds.
Baking since she was old enough to stand on a step stool to reach the counter, Kathleen DeManti realized her childhood passion could be turned into a sustaining career when she became a pastry chef assistant in fine dining restaurants such as Manresa in Los Gatos.
Shortly thereafter, she was one of the founding members of Sugar Butter Flour, a company specializing in fine desserts, chocolates and pastries. She prides herself in her ability to match a customer's request into a cake that matches his or her request and personality
